No public benchmark exists for this metric yet. This is where Omega Point's proprietary data will fill in.
What it is
Reach is the count of unique accounts that were served a piece of content at least once in a period. Impressions is the total number of times content was served, including multiple exposures to the same account. Reach ≤ impressions always; the ratio of impressions to reach is average frequency.
How to calculate it
Platform analytics (Instagram Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, Meta Business Suite, etc.) report both figures natively. Reach is unique accounts exposed; impressions are total delivery events. Reach rate = reach ÷ follower count, expressed as a percentage. Average frequency = impressions ÷ reach.
Why it matters
Reach and impressions are the top-of-funnel exposure inputs that every downstream metric — engagement rate, click-through rate, conversion rate — depends on. Without sufficient reach, engagement rates are mathematically constrained regardless of content quality. Reach is also the denominator for engagement rate calculations in some benchmarking contexts. As of 2026, organic reach on algorithmically ranked feeds has compressed significantly (Instagram feed reach is commonly cited at 18–28% of followers for business accounts), making reach rate a key diagnostic for organic distribution health.
How to read it
There is no established public benchmark for raw impressions or reach counts — these are pure scale metrics that depend on account size, platform, content type, and posting frequency. Even reach rate varies widely by platform, account size, content format (Reels vs. static posts vs. Stories), and algorithm moment. The meaningful signal is your own trend: is reach rate stable, rising, or declining over time? Compare reach rate and impressions per post against your own prior periods and, where accessible, against competitors or category accounts of similar size. Omega Point does not emit an estimate band for raw impressions or reach; the range spans orders of magnitude with no defensible anchor.
